Itinerary of the : 4 Days Tour From Tangier To Merzouga Desert Marrakech
Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen – Fes
Your journey begins with a scenic drive through the Rif mountains and Tetoun city, offering breathtaking mountain views. Explore the charming village of Chefchaouen with its Spanish-style square and unique shops. Lunch in rooftop restaurants precedes the continuation to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a riad.
Day 2: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga
Start the day with breakfast and head south, passing through Ifrane and Azrou in the Middle Atlas mountains. Pause in cedar forests to observe barbarian apes in their natural habitat. Traverse the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and witness the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved in volcanic rock. The landscape transforms into desert tracks as you approach Errachidia. After lunch, continue through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani, and Merzouga. Enjoy a mint tea, leave luggage in a secure room, and embark on a camel ride to a Berber camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes. The camel ride takes about an hour and a half to reach the camp, where well-equipped Berber tents await for an enchanting night in the desert. After dinner, gather around a fire and relish the traditional Berber drum beats under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Rise early to witness a stunning sunrise over the dunes, followed by a camel ride back to the hotel. After refreshing and breakfast, venture to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, concluding the day in the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Dades Gorges – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas Mountain – Marrakech
Commence the day with breakfast and traverse the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The picturesque Dades Valley, part of the thousand kasbah trail, provides ample opportunities for photography. Visit the Valley of Roses and the village of Skoura before reaching Ouarzazate, known as “the Hollywood of Africa.” Lunch at the renowned Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, precedes the journey through the majestic Tizi Ntichka Pass, reaching an altitude of 2260m above the High Atlas Mountains. Take a moment to savor breathtaking views and visit the argan oil cooperative before arriving in Marrakech in the afternoon.
